I love Indonesian food. It always hit that sweet spot between sweet and spicy Thai and the seafood-rich Polynesian cuisines without being either. It really is its own thing—a mélange of foods and cultures, like Indonesia. I cannot rave more about the house sambal. It is made in-house, so fresh and fruity, that I wanted to keep eating long after my stomach hit its spice limit. The wide rice noodles I got are the same fun I grew up eating Cantonese, the same pad in pad Thai, cooked at high enough heat that they remained loose, instead of glomming together into a gooey mess, but not overly greasy either. Yes. They have some less scary variations of chicken satay and fried bananas that would not be too exotic for my less gastronomically adventurous friends and relatives. There are plenty of vegan and gluten-free options for those with more restrictive diets. But the colors and flavors unique to Indonesian food are all there—that bright, aromatic, and spicy crossroad of cuisines, like the glittering jewels of islands they came from.

The food is very tasty. The spicy things are SUPER spicy, even for someone like me that enjoys spicy things. The fried chicken is very crunchy and maybe just a little dry. The yellow and coconut rice is tasty goes well with the other dishes. My favorite was the mango soda. The restaurant was clean, the bathroom was in good shape, and the service was fast.

Whenever we go for vacation in united states, as Indonesian we always look for indonesian restaurant at least one time for our meals, and this time we try Indo Cafe in Seattle, the portion wise is good, the price is good, but to be honest for us the taste can be better again, especially the seasoning. But overall we still enjoy and can finish the meal. Thank you

I come from Indonesia and live in Chicago now, and from Chicago to Seattle by car for up to 2 days I wanted to visit this Indo Cafe restaurant. It was amazing when I arrived here to be greeted by very friendly service, of course also the food that is provided at this indo cafe restaurant, all the food is 100% original, Indonesian taste. I recommend that those of you who live in Seattle can visit this restaurant and get your own satisfaction.

Service was so sweet! The food was superb. DEFINITELY get the fried banana with a side of ice cream!! It's phenomenal. Super lightly crispy and custard on the inside, has no banana texture. Loved the food. Very cool to see candied anchovies on chips! We got the stir fried noodles and the coconut rice bowl. Everything was so delicious and well priced too.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Indo Cafe, a hidden gem of an Indonesian restaurant located just a short 15-20 minute drive from Downtown Seattle. As someone who misses Indonesian food tremendously, especially since Indonesian restaurants are hard to find in Chicago (the closest one being about an hour away from Downtown Chicago), I was eager to see what Indo Cafe had to offer. Ambiance: Indo Cafe creates a warm and inviting atmosphere with its cozy wooden decor and soft lighting, setting the stage for a delightful dining experience. The attentive staff welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived. Menu Variety: Indo Cafe's menu boasts an enticing array of Indonesian dishes, featuring classics like rendang and beloved comfort foods like nasi goreng. On this occasion, I decided to dive into the renowned Ayam Mbok Berek, eager to explore how it compared to the authentic flavors of Indonesia. Ayam Mbok Berek: The Ayam Mbok Berek did not disappoint. The chicken was expertly seasoned and incredibly tender, delivering a burst of authentic Indonesian flavors. The sambal, while slightly milder than expected, complemented the dish well, enhancing its overall appeal. Cah Kangkung: To accompany the main course, we ordered the Cah Kangkung, a simple yet flavorful dish of stir-fried water spinach with garlic and chili. It provided a refreshing contrast to the richness of the Ayam Mbok Berek and contributed to the diverse flavors we enjoyed. Side Dishes: In addition to the Ayam Mbok Berek and Cah Kangkung, we indulged in various side dishes, including Pempek - fried fish cake. The Pempek was a delightful surprise, featuring a crispy exterior and a flavorful interior that exceeded our expectations. Overall Experience: Indo Cafe offers an authentic Indonesian dining experience, making it a worthwhile destination for anyone looking to savor the rich flavors of Indonesian cuisine, especially for those of us who dearly miss it and have limited access. While the sambal may have leaned slightly milder, the restaurant successfully captures the essence of Indonesian culinary traditions. In conclusion, my experience at Indo Cafe was thoroughly enjoyable, and it offered a chance to rekindle my love for Indonesian cuisine, which can be a rare treat, especially in a place like Chicago. With a 4-star rating, Indo Cafe stands as a solid choice for those seeking an authentic taste of Indonesia near Downtown Seattle, and I eagerly anticipate returning to sample more of their genuine Indonesian offerings.

Great place, rare to find Indonesian restaurants in this area! The service is really great! Just wish there were a couple more vegetarian options.

I have only had one dish here but the coconut fried rice was delightful, however I wished it had a fried egg on top. Also I ordered 5 star spice and I could not hardly taste any spice at all. I will try again and see if they can make a real 5 star! The rice tasted great though and was nice and fluffy
